Ad-hoc disclosure in accordance with §15 WpHG: Kizoo AG invests in language learning portal Babbel.com

Karlsruhe, July 28, 2008. Kizoo AG (ISIN: DE000CMBT111), Karlsruhe, via wholly owned subsidiary Kizoo Technology Capital GmbH, Karlsruhe, made its first investment in a young technology venture today – Lesson Nine GmbH, Berlin with its language learning portal Babbel.com. With its minority shareholding Kizoo implements for the first time its technology venture strategy within the framework of its realignment. The first-round financing is carried out together with VC Fonds, Berlin. Over the next twelve months both partners will invest a six digit amount into the product and distribution of Babbel.com.

The investment involves a direct shareholding in Lesson Nine GmbH, Berlin, that operates the language learning portal Babbel.com. VC Fonds, Berlin, managed by IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Berlin, joined in as a co-investor.

With Babbel everybody can learn English, Spanish, French, Italian or German free of charge. Other languages are being prepared. A playful learning concept, community functions and multimedia features ensure quick learning success without a rigid lesson system. Pictures, sound and communication with others open up new ways of learning a language.

The market for Babbel emerges in the middle of Web 2.0, mobile content and a rapidly expanding e-learning market. The business model is based on three pillars: premium services, mobile value-added services and online advertising.
